So, the runner inside my head has been saying "now what?" You've ran a marathon (26.2 miles), what are you going to do next? What do you want to do next? I will definitely be running Rocket City Marathon this year, and I am considering find a fall marathon to sign up for. I just know that summers are HOT, and my distances will be shortening for the summer because of the heat, but that doesn't really make me sad. It gives me a new challenge; to improve my speed and 5k time. So my goal for this summer to do a 25 minute 5k! Sounds crazy, I know, but that is what I am going to train for and work hard for!!! I want to do my first trail running race soon too, but I still feel so new to it that the thought of a trail race somewhat scares me! I will definitely be hitting the Monte Sano trails in the summer to get more practice in for some upcoming trail races? I am not sure about the Mountain Mist 50k yet, but McKay Hollow might be something I could be ready for! I am also helping lead a group run on Saturday mornings at Bridgestreet, so feel free to join our running group if you are in the area! We don't leave any runners behind, so no matter how "fast" or "slow" you are, you will fit right in! :)
Also, I am sad to admit something: I have been slacking on my Jillian Micheals workouts. I have been slacking on my core and strength exercises, and I really want to get back into that. Runners NEED that. I remember seeing such a HUGE difference in the tone of my body along with how strong I felt during my weekly runs. I want my abs and my tone thighs back (lol) so I will be starting the 30 Day Shred by Jillian Michaels soon! I will definitely give you my thoughts on it along with my before and after pictures to see some real results! I got AMAZING results last year with the "No More Trouble Zones" workout circuits from her, and I just love how Jillian creates these workout routines! I have just been so tired lately and not making time for it, but that is going to change! A friend (Elizabeth) got me looking into Jillian's workout dvd/videos on youtube, and I LOVE it!
Well, I am about to go on a nice dinner date with my sweet husband (LONG overdue). My tired and stressed out self needs to give him attention...poor thing. I am so thankful for him; he truly is the sweetest, and he treats me so well and puts up with my tiredness along with my job! I am so happy that he's mine! :) Have a good week, everyone! :)
